BABEL, UNINDEXED
The map resets every day. Language doesn’t.
You are a librarian in a stray sector of the Library of Babel: thirty-seven hexagonal rooms that forget their own shape every morning. Whatever you walked through yesterday is unknown again today. What stays is language — the words you have copied from the shelves and the sentence forms you have repaired.
Pair a form with a word and you have an anchor: a sentence the Library will, for a while, accept as true.

- “The next room reveals shelves.” — the next unknown door opens on exactly that.
- “Memory exists.” — rooms you enter today will still be there tomorrow.
- “I am still a guide.” — stepping into the unknown stops costing you lucidity.
Only three anchors hold at once, and a new one pushes out the oldest. Most days come down to one question: which sentence do you keep?
Three sentences to the exit
To leave, you have to make the Library admit three things, each larger than the last: “I am still a reader.” “The boundary exists.” “The outside exists.” Until the last one holds, there is no exit anywhere on the map.
Every day that passes, the Library swallows a little more. Run out of days and you are archived — one more page of unreadable text.

What’s in it
- A 37-hex map that wraps around on all six sides and is wiped clean every day
- 4 sentence forms, three kinds of words, 3 anchor slots — every sentence you can write does something
- No combat. The pressure is your dwindling lucidity, and a library that keeps forgetting you
- One nameless reader, one questline, one way out
After Jorge Luis Borges’ short story The Library of Babel (1941): the hexagonal galleries, the pages of noise with a few legible words in them, the librarians looking for a catalogue of catalogues.
